My stone of choice is Limestone. Up until 90 Million years ago the majority of Kansas was a half mile deep under the Inland Sea. 300 Million years ago layer upon layer of coral and shells accumulated forming sediment then compressed and heated from rising tectonic plates chalk, limestone and flint rock was formed and Kansas rose out of the sea.
